Corrective Exercise is a systematic approach to fitness that improves movement quality and injury resistance. The process begins with a thorough assessment of posture and movement. The Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) will identify movement impairments, compensations, and muscle imbalances that are keeping you from performing your best. With your goals in mind, your CES will develop a personalized exercise program that addresses your specific needs. Whether it’s getting back on the golf course, improving your athletic performance, getting rid of that “tech neck” or keeping up with your grandkids, Corrective Exercise can help you reach your goals!
The Four Stages of Corrective Exercise Programming:
- Inhibit: use of myofascial rollers and balls, vibration, and other massage tools to inhibit shortened and overactive muscles
- Lengthen: Static and neurodynamic stretching exercises to lengthen shortened and overactive muscles
- Activate: Isolated strengthening exercises to target underactive muscles
- Integrate: Dynamic exercises that teach the body new, more efficient movement patterns
